A Special Message to the Mother's of Calvary

Honoring the

Faith of Mothers

The Influence of a Mother

Happy Mother’s Day to all the moms, grandmothers, and moms-to-be.

Ann Jarvis began what would become Mother’s Day as a way to honor her mother’s faithful service to others. Years later, in 1914, President Woodrow Wilson officially set aside the second Sunday in May as a day to recognize and give thanks for mothers.

Mother’s Day began as a way to recognize the quiet, faithful service of mothers, which is something worth honoring. When we look at Scripture, we see that same kind of impact woven throughout God’s story.

Names like Mary, Sarah, Hannah, and Elizabeth often come to mind. But there are two women who are easy to overlook: Lois and Eunice.

They were Timothy’s grandmother and mother.

Paul writes this about them:
“I am reminded of your sincere faith, which first lived in your grandmother Lois and in your mother Eunice and, I am persuaded, now lives in you also.” (2 Timothy 1:5)

Their faith was passed down, and it shaped Timothy’s life to help form him into a man who would walk closely with the Apostle Paul and be used powerfully by God.

That’s the influence of a mother.

It may not always be seen. It may feel ordinary. But it is deeply significant.

Mothers and grandmothers are doing some of the most important work there is by planting seeds of faith that can last for generations.

Hear His Call

Missions aren’t optional; they’re our calling. Jesus commands us to go and make disciples, and we have the privilege of doing so both locally and globally.

“Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.” (Matthew 28:19-20)

From supporting ministries in our community to partnering with global efforts like e3 Partners and Samaritan’s Purse, we’re actively sharing the Gospel. Recently, members of our church helped lead 346 people to Christ in Colombia.

You are called to this. As an ambassador of Christ, you already have what you need to share the Good News, right here in our community or around the world.

Bible verse of the week.

“I am reminded of your sincere faith, which first lived in your grandmother Lois and in your mother Eunice and, I am persuaded, now lives in you also.”

~ 2 Timothy 1:5

Tax day marked on a calendar with papers.

Give to God What is His A Message on Taxes from Pastor Ken When Christ was asked about paying taxes, He asked for a coin. They thought they could trap Him. If He said “no,” He would be accused of rebellion. If He said “yes,” He would be seen as a traitor. But Jesus responded, “Whose image is on this coin?” “Caesar’s,” they said. He replied, “Render to Caesar the things that are Caesar’s, and to God the things that are God’s.” In other words, give to Caesar what bears his image, and give to...

The Resurrection of Jesus Christ What Easter Means to Us Jesus died for our sins and rose again to secure forgiveness, new life, and a living hope that never fades. “Why do you seek the living among the dead? He is not here, but has risen.” ~ Luke 24:5-6 At the empty tomb, they were looking for Jesus in the wrong place. And we often do the same. We look for Him in what’s familiar, predictable, or visible, yet He is alive and at work in ways we don’t always expect. Jesus tells us that He is...

A stained glass image of Saint Patrick.

Who Was Saint Patrick? The Story of Saint Patrick Let's begin with a crazy fact: Saint Patrick wasn’t Irish, he was British. Kidnapped at sixteen, taken to Ireland, and sold into slavery. After escaping and returning home, Patrick could have left it all behind. But God had other plans. In time, he felt called to go back to the very people who had enslaved him and share the Gospel with them. He boldly preached Christ, planted churches, and was instrumental in the spiritual transformation of...
